The Call to Visit Mother India

This video is from one of my past trips to India. I had come for two months and during the first month did my second Panchakarma at the amazing Ayurveda Yoga Villa center (this time in the Udayagiri center) and for the second month, I stayed in Rishikesh studying with Iyengar yoga teacher Usha Devi at Omkarananda Ganga Sadan and then sitting in Satsang with Mooji.

Having gone to India many times before and on some trips really taken to the traveler’s road this time I decided to settle into two locations.

Staying in Rishikesh you are situated on the holy Ganges River. The Ganges River to Hindus is the most sacred body of water and it has many sacred pilgrimage sites. Many of the stories from Hindu scriptures occurred along the river and many times Hindu gods drank from it.

The Ganges River originates in the Himalayan Mountains and winds its way through northern India, eventually emptying into the Bay of Bengal.

Staying here the river became a daily meditation site for me and a place of reflection. There is something mesmerizing about the river. The Ganges may be the most revered and prayed to river on the entire place and one can feel the powerful vibration that is created by this.

Everywhere you walk up and down the river people are making offerings, bathing in its water and giving thanks to this life-giving source. I remember on my first trip to India I went to Varanasi which is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus on the Ganges River. It is believed that if you die in Varanasi or your deceased body (or ashes) is brought to here then you will attain Moksha and be free from the cycle of birth and death.

Here in this video, I was joining in a prayer and offering to the sacred Ganges River in a Puja ceremony. Giving thanks to this great spirit and asking for continued guidance on my path. Asking that anything I was holding on to that was keeping me bound in cycles of separateness be released.

I give thanks to India for its many religions, rituals, traditions and its connection to the divine. Coming to this land I can feel an aliveness in a country where this search or inquiry is so strong. A pilgrimage site that calls me back time and time again.

I have been getting more and more requests to bring a group to India and pre-covid I had started to collect people’s emails who want to join.

If you feel the call to join in a trip with me perhaps to one of these Ayurvedic centers in 2023, please comment below and contact us in the form below.

Blessings always
